There is no fee to enter, and applicants can enter a maximum of TWO Categories.
A summary of the categories can be found below. Click on each colour category tab to view more. Then click View Criteria for the details of what we are looking for in each category. These criteria are a beacon, with each application judged on its own merit.
The Entry Form (currently closed) is where you will find the questions that need to be answered so you can prepare accordingly, alongside the guidelines and information on the judging process.

This award recognises an organisation that offers ethical wildlife experiences (wild or captive), respects animal welfare, educates tourists, and where applicable, has demonstrated a significant contribution to natural habitat conservation and the reduction of human wildlife conflict.
Are you dedicated to wildlife conservation and ethical wildlife experiences (wild or captive)? We’re looking for an organisation, on the ground or a strong supporting partner, that prioritises animal welfare, minimises environmental impact, and actively supports conservation efforts. Showcase your educational approach to guests and locals, dedication to ethical wildlife viewing, and commitment to protecting Africa’s precious wildlife for future generations.

This media award recognises the importance of creativity, accurate storytelling, ethical focus, and audience impact to amplify the message of responsible tourism in Africa.
Have you investigated and reported on a story that has drawn awareness to either success stories or challenges within the eco-tourism context of Africa? Are you a voice for people and planet with an awareness of how your words have the power to inform and educate, and contribute to meaningful tourism? This award recognises a journalist, who has in their preferred media (written, podcast, film etc) played a role in reporting on responsible tourism and related issues such as climate change, conservation and community in order to transform travel into a force for good in Africa.

ATTA® Emerging Changemaker Award
This award recognises an organisation (NGO, organisation, or business) that is at the beginning of the journey and committed to having a positive impact on people and/or planet through an inspiring project or collective actions.
We’re looking for that grassroots champion organisation or NGO that shows a tangible commitment to positive change that benefits people and/or the environment in Africa and has an impact on the tourism experience. This is your opportunity to showcase your efforts whether they are related to the preservation of cultural heritage preservation, conservation or community initiatives, or other. Show us your commitment and your passion that will inspire others.
